Job Description:

Musicians On Call (MOC) brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities. The Coordinator of Northeast Music Programs is a full-time position responsible for carrying out the mission of the organization primarily in New York City, as well as in Boston and any new markets in the Northeast Region. He/she will work closely with MOC Leadership and the Partnerships Department to create awareness and build relationships in the community. He/she is responsible for overseeing the Bedside Performance Programs and Project Playback in the Northeast Region. Additionally, the Coordinator of Northeast Music Programs will work with the Senior Manager of Music Programs to implement the new Virtual Bedside Program, the 2.0 version of the Music Pharmacies as well as expand Project Playback. The Coordinator of Northeast Music Programs will report to the Senior Manager of Music Programs. The Coordinator must be based out of New York, NY.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create awareness for MOC among the greater NYC and Boston communities and beyond in the Northeast Region. This includes meeting with various healthcare facilities, corporations, universities, organizations, and foundations to encourage volunteering with MOC
  • Schedule all volunteer musicians and guides in NYC and Boston; schedule volunteers for additional programs in additional cities in the Northeast as programs expand
  • Manage a base of 150+ volunteers
  • Screen and orient new volunteers and decide on hospital placement
  • Complete all partner facilities’ orientations and training in order to train new volunteers, as needed
  • Manage volunteer applications, records and statistics through MOC’s database
  • Work closely with the Executive Vice President and Senior Manager of Music Programs to support opportunities for celebrities and corporate partners to participate in MOC’s programs in NYC and Boston  
  • Support in the arrangement of special visits/programs for important guests
  • Provide programmatic data for the Partnerships department for grant applications and reports
  • Ensure all volunteers are updated with program related information in a timely manner
  • Establish and maintain relationships with volunteers by program follow-ups via email/phone call and by sending monthly birthday cards
  • Act as a liaison between the volunteers and the hospital facility contacts through the Senior Manager of Music Programs
  • Monitor ongoing programs by reviewing program tracking sheets
  • Attend any volunteer fairs or recruitment events
  • Plan and execute volunteer events such as the annual Volunteer Appreciation Night, Volunteer Spotlight and other social events
  • Assist the team with any fundraising events
  • Manage the Volunteer Facebook groups for NYC and Boston
  • Recruit and manage volunteers at MOC events
  • Continuously promote MOC’s brand and maintain its positive reputation within the NYC and Boston communities

 

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Disciplined self-starter who can set and achieve goals
  • Passion for and interest in learning more about the nonprofit world
  • Ability to prioritize projects, meet deadlines, manage several projects simultaneously and work well under pressure
  • Computer literacy and database familiarity required; Knowledge of Salesforce and Google Applications preferred

 

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2 years experience in nonprofit, music industry, healthcare, or related field(s) or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred; knowledge of HIPAA and infection control policies preferred
