Catch Amos Lee On Tour and Support Musicians On Call

Amos Lee

Musicians On Call supporter Amos Lee continues his Mountains of Sorrow, Rivers of Song tour this February, with newly added dates in the US and Europe just announced!  We’re grateful that Amos continues his support of our programs by donating $1 from each ticket sold during all upcoming tour dates to Musicians On Call, just as he did on the first leg of the tour, which hit the US last fall.   A portion of the funds raised were allocated to our WXPN Musicians On Call program in Philadelphia, which will launch a new program in 2014  as a direct result of Amos’ generosity.  And we’re not the only ones who think he’s very kind:  Prior to his hometown gig at the Tower Theater, Amos stopped by City Hall to receive a commendation from Mayor Michael Nutter, which recognized his ongoing service to the city.

Amos has been an integral part of the Musicians On Call family for many years.   He’s an ongoing volunteer at our WXPN Musicians On Call Bedside Performance Programs in Philadelphia, has inaugurated our Bedside Performance Program at the Philadelphia Veterans Community Living Center,  performed a benefit concert for us in NY, and shared his MOC experience in order to raise awareness of our mission. When he asked if we’d like to be included in his upcoming tour, of course we said yes!

‘Some of my most meaningful moments as a musician have been with XPN Musicians On Call,’ says Amos Lee. ‘You get to connect with people on more of a human personal level than at any other time.  You get to witness the transformative power of music, and until you behold of something like that, it’s more of an abstract notion.  It reminds me that music is not a means to an end but rather an ever-flowing body that nurtures us, challenges us and connects us all.’

Tickets for the Mountains of Sorrow, Rivers of Song tour are on sale now and are available for the first time directly on Amos Lee’s website. Click HERE to purchase tickets.
