Job Description

Musicians On Call (MOC) delivers live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare environments. By delivering live, in-room performances to patients undergoing treatment or unable to leave their beds, we add a dose of joy to life in a healthcare facility. Since 1999, Musicians On Call volunteer musicians have performed for over 1,000,000 patients and their families.

We are looking for an intern to join our team for a 10 to 12-week period; from September to December 2023. This unpaid internship requires a minimum of 9 hours of on-site work per week for the fulfillment of academic credit. Intern must be currently enrolled in an accredited Undergraduate program for the Fall 2023 semester.

This intern will be responsible for providing vital organizational support for MOC Headquarters in Nashville, TN. This position will report to the People Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Shadow multiple office positions and train in a variety of tasks
  • Research and organize information in the areas of music, industry talent, and healthcare to assist with organizational development and expansion
  • Assist in preparing information and research materials for presentations
  • Assist with data entry and help create reports and spreadsheets
  • Assist with volunteer recruitment
  • Event assistance and support, as needed
  • Perform clerical duties, maintain files, email account management, and organize documents
  • Assist with outgoing mail and packages, including MOC Streaming fulfillment and fundraising mailings and contributions to fundraising initiatives

Requirements:

  • Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in a related field;
  • Seeking experience for academic credit fulfillment
  • The ideal candidate will be very personable, highly organized, have a sharp eye for detail, possess great time management skills, and maintain professionalism at all times
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
  • Ability to prioritize projects, meet deadlines, manage several projects simultaneously and work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Passion for and interest in learning more about the nonprofit world, music industry, healthcare, or related field(s) preferred.
