Being involved with Musicians On Call has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. I consider it a great gift to be able to share music and bring smiles to these brave children and their loved ones. It is healing for us all and I can't wait to do it again!
I think all musicians should do this. I think everyone could do it no matter what music genre you play from. You see people in the hospital all the time, you're a visitor. To me, to be a part of their day for a minute is a great experience. This is a day I will never forget.
You can actually see and feel a change when it happens and it is one of my favorite things in the world to be a part of.
I have volunteered for Musicians on Call for the past 13 years because of the incredible one-on-one experiences in hospital rooms when no one other than the patient and I would remember the love that was exchanged.
It's an amazing experience to go into a room to play music for people who are in a situation where they can use music as medicine.
What made me decide to come here today was the invitation from Musicians On Call. I can't even begin to tell you how much I admire and respect the work they do and what an honor it is to be a part of it.
I thank Musicians On Call and the whole fabric of what its about - Me being a musician and being able to participate and knowing this is going on in so many hospital rooms across the country and knowing this is spreading so much love and joy.
I enjoy Musicians On Call because it strips down the performing aspect of music to its most basic function - to share, to heal, to inspire. It's just you and another person sharing an intimate moment that is actually bigger than the both of you.
Music is so healing. Whether you’re in a hospital bed or you’re driving down the road just broken up with your boyfriend, it has such a healing power.
You're just alone in a room that doesn't know anything about you. It's spoken to me truly better than any other musical experience I've had.
It was like a whole different communication and contact thanks to the healing powers of music, and all I had to do was really, do what comes naturally.
Being a part Musicians On Call for our Veterans was one of the most gratifying and joyful experiences I’ve had in my life as a musician. It’s easy to take for granted what we enjoy and do every day, but moments like these are what it’s really all about. The universal language and a magical moment in time.
I’ve had the chance to bring music to children several times through Musicians On Call, and visibly seen how much music lifts their spirits.
There’s nothing like going to see those kids and using the gift that I have and the platform that I have to bring smiles to their faces.
Musicians On Call is thrilled to have Rachel Platten join us for a special Bedside Performance Program visit to Children’s Hospital at Montefiore.Today Show crews went behind the scenes as Rachel went room to room to play at the bedsides of patients. Rachel has volunteered over 50 programs and to honor her, Musicians On Call presented her with the Music Heals award at the Rock The Room Tour on December 1st in Los Angeles.
This Veterans Day, Jimmy Wayne, country music singer and songwriter, visited Veterans with Musicians On Call (MOC), a nonprofit that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities at the Nashville VA. The singer serenaded Veterans with his hits including “Sara Smile” and “Do You Believe Me Now” at MOC’s Bedside Performance Program, where volunteer musicians across the country have delivered the healing power of music to nearly half a million patients, families and caregivers.
