Some moments become memories we carry forever
When Tigirlily Gold visited a young patient and his mom during an MOC Bedside program, they created one of those moments.
For a few minutes, the hospital room became their own little concert. There was music, joy and the chance to simply be together, something this mother would come to treasure deeply.
The memory of that day remains with her. She shared:
If I could just rewind to this day and take it all in again I would. It was so precious and that was our own little personal concert we never will get to experience with him on earth. I want to thank you all again because that memory lives on forever with me. One of the best days in the hospital.Patient's Mother
For this mother, the music became more than a moment of entertainment. It became a memory of her son, of his presence, their time together and a day when, even in the hospital, they were able to experience something beautiful.
That is what music can do at the bedside.
It can bring comfort when there are few words to offer. It can create a sense of normalcy in an unfamiliar place. And it can give families a moment of connection that they can carry with them, even after their hospital journey has ended.
Through MOC Bedside, professional musicians bring live music directly to patients and their families, meeting them where they are and creating space for moments of joy, connection and meaning.
Sometimes, a song becomes part of a family’s story.
And sometimes, it becomes a memory they will cherish forever.
