What Virtual Program do you volunteer with? I volunteer for Programa Virtual En Español (MOC’s Spanish-speaking virtual program) and for Pediatrics

How long have you been volunteering with Musicians On Call? I’ve been volunteering for 10 years

Are you a volunteer guide or musician? Musician

What is your favorite song to play for patients? I love doing mashups of songs. My favorite English song to play is Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars because I love telling patients how special and unique they are. In Spanish I love to play Vivir Mi Vida by Marc Anthony because it’s such a fun happy song.

Which demographic do you love playing for and why? I truly can’t pick one I love playing for everyone!

Do you have any livestreams or other performances coming up? I will be releasing new music soon but don’t have any livestreams scheduled just yet.

What is your occupation outside of MOC? Singer/Songwriter and Actor

Do you have any hidden talents? I can’t think of any hidden talents at the moment. But I do love to write fun and funny songs for my family and friends for their birthdays and special occasions.

What is your story? What connects you with music and why do you volunteer with MOC? Music has always been my happy place. I believe it connects us all, helps us to feel understood, and maybe even put words and melodies to what we are experiencing in life. Ten years ago when I was introduced to Musicians On Call through SESAC, I found what I call my favorite thing to do with music. Not only do I get to share what I love through beautiful songs and singing, but there is a connection that takes place when you’re playing at a patient’s bedside and now virtually that is hard to put into words but quite magical if you’re fortunate enough to be part of. The moments, smiles, conversations, and of course songs that are shared with patients, family members, nurses, doctors, fellow musicians, and guides are so full of the pure heart and soul of Musicians On Call. Not only do I believe in the mission statement that music heals, but I also have experienced the healing power of human connection through my time with MOC. I am so grateful and honored to be a volunteer. I even wrote a song called Full Of That Light that tells the listener just how unique and magnificent they are, that was inspired by my time with Musicians On Call and all the amazing people I have had the honor of meeting and singing to.
