Do you volunteer at a specific hospital? I volunteer at Virginia Hospital Center

How long have you been volunteering with Musicians On Call? 8 Months

Are you a Volunteer Guide or Volunteer Musician? Musician

What is your favorite song to play for patients? Puttin’ On the Ritz, Amazing Grace

Have you ever been part of an impromptu jam session with patients or family in a hospital room? Yes, when whole families sing along.

Do you perform anywhere else besides with MOC? Kelly’s Irish Times for St. Patrick’s Day festivities, and for CUA Homecoming.

What is your occupation outside of MOC? Actor/Musician/Voiceover Performer

Do You Have Any Hidden Talents? No, they’re all fully exposed!

What is your story? What connects you with music and why do you volunteer with MOC? Long-time musician, since age 14. After all this time, I still love it; it calms me, inspires and fulfills me.

What makes MOC different from your other volunteer experiences? Although I’ve played in many settings, I had never played for patients before MOC.

Has your life changed because of your experience with MOC? To some degree, a level of sensitivity in me has been rekindled, for which I am grateful.

What is your favorite #MOCmoment? In playing “Country Roads” for a patient whose relatives were visiting, they all joined in. One relative was an opera singer who’d sung at the Met. I think we could be heard throughout much of the floor! But, there have also been intimate moments with tears of gratitude as well.
