MUSICIANS ON CALL NOMINATES DIGITAL MUSIC INNOVATOR TO NATIONAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS, CELEBRATES PRESIDENT’S CEO APPOINTMENT & FIVE YEAR MILESTONE

Musicians On Call welcomes Apple Music’s East Coast Head of Music Steve Savoca to the organization’s National Board of Directors. MOC’s National Board also recently appointed Pete Griffin CEO of the organization, adding to his existing title of President.

Savoca brings more than two decades of experience in the music industry, with particular expertise in digital music. He has been on the leading edge of digital music since the late 90’s and oversees label partnerships in his current role with Apple Music. Prior to Apple Music Savoca served as Vice President, Content at Spotify. As one of the first hires he was instrumental in helping to build the music subscription service. He has also held senior digital roles with Domino Recording Co., Sire Records and Zomba Label Group.

Along with the Musicians On Call National Board of Directors, Savoca sits on the Board of Directors of the Music Business Association and was named to Billboard’s Digital Power Players List in 2015.

Since joining Musicians On Call as President in 2014, Griffin has led the organization to quadruple the number of cities with programs nationwide and significantly increase its fundraising efforts.

Under Griffin’s leadership, the team at Musicians On Call has brought the healing power of music to more than 700,000 individuals in 20 cities nationwide through its programs, including the Bedside Performance Program. Griffin has also led the team in relaunching MOC’s Music Pharmacy program and expanding its Virtual Bedside Performance Program. These efforts have garnered national attention with features by CBS Sunday Morning, The TODAY Show, the Wall Street Journal and Rolling Stone. Griffin has also been named to the 2018 TIAA Difference Maker 100 List and Nashville Business Journal’s Most Admired CEO’s, Healthcare Heroes, and 40 Under 40 lists.

With the team at Musicians On Call, Griffin has helped recruit celebrity talent and national corporate partners to amplify the mission of the organization. Celebrity talent supporters include Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran, Nick Jonas and many more. He has also cultivated partnerships between Musicians On Call and national and global brands, including CITI, Southwest Airlines, Bose, Genentech and several others.
