PEOPLE Exclusive: Reba McEntire Surprises Nashville Veterans

We are incredibly proud and thrilled to share that Musicians On Call (MOC) has been featured in an exclusive story by PEOPLE Magazine!

The feature highlights a deeply moving, surprise bedside performance by multimedia entertainment icon Reba McEntire, who teamed up with MOC to bring the healing power of music directly to patients and veterans at the Nashville VA Medical Center.

The special hospital visit took place just days before our landmark Music Heals Live! event in Nashville, where Reba was honored with the Music Heals Golden Ukulele Award for her decade-long dedication to our mission. Wanting to do what she does best before accepting her award, Reba—joined by fellow country star Terri Clark—went room-to-room to deliver smiles, comfort, and acoustic songs to those undergoing care.

As PEOPLE beautifully detailed in their exclusive coverage, the atmosphere was filled with tears, laughter, and unforgettable connections. The country music legends spent intimate time at the bedsides of veterans, sharing stories and reminding them of how deeply they are appreciated.

“Music brings light into dark times and gives hope when everything feels hopeless. That’s the power of music,” Reba shared of her experience. “It’s about the singers and musicians who go room-to-room putting smiles on people’s faces.”

The PEOPLE feature captures the heart of what Musicians On Call volunteers do every single day, shedding light on the incredible emotional and mental relief that live music brings to pediatric patients, adults, veterans, and the hardworking healthcare heroes who care for them.

We invite the entire MOC community to read the full story, look through the heartwarming photos, and experience the magic of Reba’s visits.
