Rachel Platten Visits Patients at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica
Longtime volunteer and friend of MOC, Rachel Platten, made a special visit to UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica for a memorable Bedside Performance Program! Patients were eager to hear her play her classic and inspiring tunes like “Fight Song” and “Stand By You” right at their bedside, one-on-one.
Before her platinum selling hits, Rachel was a regularly scheduled Volunteer Musician for over a decade. In 2015, she was honored in Los Angeles to celebrate her dedication to the healing power of music. This is what she had to say at that time:
I have volunteered for Musicians on Call for the past 12 years because of the incredible one-on-one experiences in hospital rooms when no one other than the patient and I would remember the love that was exchanged.
