MUSICIANS ON CALL FEATURED ON CBS SUNDAY MORNING

CBS Correspondent Nancy Giles joined Country Superstar Luke Bryan, Musicians On Call President Pete Griffin, and our very first Volunteer Musician Kenli Mattus as they delivered the healing power of music at Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC and City of Hope in LA. Take a look at behind the scenes at these special programs!

To mark the groundbreaking Music Pharmacy program launch, 4-time Entertainer of The Year Luke Bryan made a surprise visit, volunteering for Musicians On Call’s hallmark program, the Bedside Performance program, performing hits like “Play It Again” and “Huntin’, Fishin’ And Lovin’ Every Day” for patients right at the bedsides. Following the visit, Luke delivered the Music Pharmacy tablets and headphones to the hospital who will host the equipment for the program, then went room to room listening to music with patients who will now be able to continue listening long after the musician leaves. Learn more about the launch here!

Kenli Mattus, our first Volunteer Musician, has been playing bedside for patients coast-to-coast since 1999 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Though he has played for hundreds of patients, he makes each moment just as special as the next. After making the move to the West Coast, he and his wife Daniela launched our Los Angeles program in 2013. We celebrated the duo for their dedication to the healing power of music in 2015, awarding them with the Music Heals honor.
