“Fight Song” was this patient’s healing anthem. Watch him sing it with Rachel Platten herself!

Scout is a patient at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. After being in a coma from a serious car accident last year, his body had to relearn its basic functions. After fighting for his life following the accident, he found the strength he needs to keep fighting through his recovery in Rachel Platten’s smash hit “Fight Song.”

Scout and his mother met Rachel during a special Musicians On Call Virtual program where he shared a few personalized lyrics that they later sang together. Rachel dubbed these lyrics “Scout’s verse” and it all brought the singer to tears.

This month, as part of our Backstage Pass Club campaign, we’re taking you backstage to see the impact music has in the hospital room. You can help bring more moments like this to patients across the country by joining Musicians On Call’s Backstage Pass Club. With a recurring gift, you’ll join our community of supporters who ensure patients can count on our programming every week, all year long.

Image of the Musicians On Call picnic blanket you can receive when joining the Backstage Pass Club. It is a forest green plaid blanket that folds into its own carrying case with our logo on it, making it easy to bring with you to your picnic!

Plus, if you join before June 21st, you’ll receive a limited edition MOC picnic blanket!
