Lukas Graham Shares Powerful Connection With Young Fan In MOC’s First International Visit

Eight-year-old Xavier is battling leukemia and turns to music for courage during his treatments. The song “Scars” by GRAMMY-nominated hitmaker Lukas Graham is one of his go-to anthems.

“All of his songs bring joy to me,” said Xavier, “And they really have a good tone, and beat and pulse. I listen to them all the time, even in school.”

Xavier’s mom reached out to Musicians On Call with his story and requested a surprise Virtual Program for Xavier with Lukas himself. When Xavier tuned in from his home in Las Vegas his mom told him he was performing for a singing competition. Xavier sang “Scars” for his family and Musicians On Call, unaware that Lukas was also on the call all the way in Denmark listening to him perform.

Lukas then surprised Xavier on the call to meet his brave young fan and perform “Scars” with him.

“I’m happy that you like to listen to the songs that I write and that they bring joy to you. It brought a lot of joy to me hearing you sing ‘Scars’,” Lukas told Xavier. He later added, “I was really, really happy to be able to sing with you today.”
