Supporter Spotlight: Missy

We asked longtime supporter of MOC, Missy, to share with us why she believes in the healing power of music. See below for her MOC story

Being led to Musicians On call Came from one of the most difficult times in my life. Fourteen years ago my daughter, Emma Rose was in the hospital for six months. Singing to her at her bedside, I saw the effects of how music can have such a positive impact. After she passed I was determined to find a way to use music to help other people who were experiencing the same struggles we once had. Bringing a little peace to someone’s day was at the top of my list.

I found Musicians On Call online and it completely fit my expectations. Not only could I be a musician at the besides of patients but I could also help with fundraising to help the organization expand to more areas to help as many people as possible.

The success of my fundraising has been because of all the people I am surrounded by and by continuing to have that “ never give up” attitude. I want to make sure that people continue to know the impact they can have in someone’s life by giving the gift of music. It’s been said that the volunteers of Musicians On Call are the heartbeat of the organization but more than that, the center of MOC is love. Love of music, love of helping others, love of bringing peace to patients, families and medical staff of hospital care facilities. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that!

By supporting MOC, without a doubt, you are making a significant difference in someone’s life! It’s an honor and a blessing to be a part of MOC and I am grateful that this organization has allowed me to honor my daughter’s memory through volunteering! It has truly brought light into my life despite my darkest hours.
