What Virtual Program do you volunteer with? I volunteer for the Virtual Self-Help Program

How long have you been volunteering with Musicians On Call? I’ve been volunteering for about two years

Are you a volunteer guide or musician? Musician

What is your favorite song to play for patients? You’ve Got A Friend In Me

Which demographic do you love playing for and why? I’d say anyone who likes soulful feel-good music is my audience. Particularly when sing-alongs break out.

Do you have any livestreams or other performances coming up? I do a regular performance at Salt Gastropub in Byram NJ if anyone wants to drop by! The show usually starts at 6PM

Do you have any hidden talents? I can wiggle my ears? Does that count? (editors note: of course it does!)

What is your story? What connects you with music and why do you volunteer with MOC? My story is marked with fits and starts. I am a late-blooming guitarist, only having learned to play 5 years ago and now I do it professionally. I’m a life-long vocalist and what really connects me with music is the emotional tug it can sometimes have on me. In my own experience music has made me feel better or worse at times. It can set a mood or crystallize memories. It unifies people in a way other art forms can’t and I know it has healing properties. This is why I volunteer. As a musician, I want to play music that bridges the gap between where people are and where they want to be.
