MUSIC HEALS LIVE!
On Wednesday, May 20th, MOC will showcase its national impact in Music City at the inaugural Music Heals Live! at The Pinnacle in Nashville. This NASH-ional event will celebrate the transformative healing power of music, uniting leaders in music and philanthropy while honoring the volunteers and champions who make this mission possible.
During the event, two special honorees will be recognized for their commitment to Musicians On Call’s mission. Multimedia entertainment mogul Reba McEntire will receive the Music Heals Golden Ukulele. As a dedicated supporter of Musicians On Call, McEntire has lent her time and talent to fundraising campaigns and virtual programs that have brought joy to deserving patients and healthcare teams. Mitch Glazier, Chairman and CEO of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), will receive the Leadership in Music Golden Ukulele. Glazier serves as Chairman Emeritus of the MOC Board of Directors and has been a steadfast champion of the mission for over a decade, playing a pivotal role in helping the organization launch MOC in Washington, D.C. and raising millions of dollars to support its programs. The star-studded night will also include live performances by country music icons Vince Gill, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, and appearances by Martina McBride and more.
This is Musicians On Call’s grandest celebration yet, and with it we have the opportunity to showcase our national impact in our home base of Nashville, while honoring the devoted volunteers and partners who have helped us reach more than 1.25 million people with live music. It means a great deal to recognize the leadership of Reba McEntire and Mitch Glazier, whose dedication has helped bring comfort and connection to patients, families, and caregivers—and the volunteers who create moments of joy and healing.Pete Griffin, Musicians On Call President & CEO
Five volunteers from cities from coast to coast will also be honored for the time they’ve spent visiting with and performing for patients in their communities. Stan Garrison from Chicago and Daisy Perez and Dianna Perez from Los Angeles will receive the Vivek J. Tiwary Volunteer Guide Golden Ukulele, while Jeff Scornavacca from Boston and Keenan Kamae from Chicago will receive the Michael Solomon Volunteer Musician Golden Ukulele.
