What Virtual Program do you volunteer with? I volunteer for the City of Hope Virtual Program

How long have you been volunteering with Musicians On Call? I’ve been volunteering for over 4 years

Are you a volunteer guide or musician? Musician

What is your favorite song to play for patients? “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz. That song is so special in how it brings joy to people.

Which demographic do you love playing for and why? It’s awesome playing for kids. When I volunteered at the local children’s hospital it was so cool to see how a song could lift the spirits of a child and their family. They’re fun too — they’re usually down for Disney songs, and they get really into Frozen’s “Let It Go.”

Do you have any livestreams or other performances coming up? I livestream most Saturdays on my Twitch channel, twitch.tv/andrewplanmusic. I’m also releasing a new original song every week on Spotify and the other major streaming platforms.

What is your occupation outside of MOC?  I’m one of the backend engineering team leads for Veryable, a local tech company building an on-demand marketplace for manufacturing labor.

Do you have any hidden talents? None that I can think of right now. I guess they’re too hidden 🙂

What is your story? What connects you with music and why do you volunteer with MOC? For the longest time I thought I was going to be a doctor, until I realized that I was meant to be a different kind of healer. Music has always been there for me to help me heal from tough times. I want to do the same for other people and help them heal through my music. I’m so thankful I get to volunteer with Musicians On Call. It’s been a wonderful way to live my mission as an artist.
