Alissa Pollack Named Chair of Musicians On Call’s National Board of Directors

Musicians On Call is proud to announce the appointment of iHeartMedia Executive Vice President of Global Music Marketing Alissa Pollack as Chair of its National Board of Directors. Outgoing Chair Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) Chairman and CEO Mitch Glazier moves to the role of Chair Emeritus. Additional Board appointments include Philanthropist Michelle Frohlich-Klinger as Secretary and Baker Sullivan Hoover PLC Managing Partner Cathy Sullivan CPA, CFP, PFS as Treasurer. MOC also announces the re-election of Mack Real Estate Group Co-Founder Stephen Mack and 25-year music veteran Rome Thomas to the Board, the addition of its newest member SCS Innovations, LLC President Sara Star, and remembers the dedication of former Board member Kevin O’Toole.

Alissa has been an incredible force for our mission, introducing countless artists and community supporters to our programs over the years. She is the perfect person to take the reins following Mitch’s great work as Chair,” said Pete. “This group of new and returning Board members have the rich knowledge and innovative vision to help Musicians On Call thrive as we embark on a new program direction. We will, however, deeply miss the passion of our friend Kevin O’Toole, who was a great champion for the healing power of music. I am confident that his legacy will live on in every aspect of our organization.”

As Executive Vice President of Global Music Marketing, Alissa works closely with brands and artists to provide them with a broad spectrum of music data and custom insights that better informs their decision-making on everything from advertising content and social media programs to events and artist partnerships, increasing the efficacy of advertising campaigns and fan engagement. She was instrumental in bringing Musicians On Call’s live music programs to City of Hope in Los Angeles and Staten Island University Hospital in New York through the Jason Pollack Bedside Performance Program, in honor of her late father. Alissa has served on MOC’s National Board of Directors since 2010 and Emeritus Mitch Glazier has been a member of the Board since 2011.

Michelle and Cathy both joined Musicians On Call’s Board of Directors in 2021. Michelle’s philanthropic work includes leading numerous social impact causes as well as launching the Miami Branch of Musicians On Call, where she served as Program Director from 2009 to 2012. In this role, she founded programs at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, South Miami Hospital, and Holtz Children’s Hospital at Jackson Memorial and recruited over 100 volunteer guides and musicians. Cathy is a CPA whose focus is family planning for individuals and helping clients achieve lifestyle goals. She is a longtime Volunteer Guide for Musicians On Call, helping the organization launch its bedside program in Nashville in 2007, and has served on MOC’s Advisory Council for more than a decade.

Stephen and Rome joined MOC’s Board of Directors in 2011. Stephen has previously served as Treasurer of the Board and has played a significant role in growing support for MOC during his years with the organization. Since joining the board, Rome has lent his expertise in strategic music initiatives to MOC’s marketing and talent committees and currently serves as the Board Committee chair of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Task Force.

As President of SCS Innovations, Sara backs entrepreneurs to advance new healthcare products, new technologies and higher education initiatives. Over the past 25 years she has served on a dozen boards focusing on governance, strategy, operations and programming. In recent years, she pivoted into the entrepreneurial world as an angel investor and venture fund advisor. She has been a longtime advocate for Musicians On Call’s programs in Chicago-area hospitals and nationwide.

Last year Musicians On Call lost a dedicated Board Member with the passing of Kevin O’Toole. He had been a member of the Board since 2013 where he served as Secretary and had recently been elected to the role of Vice Chairman. Kevin was also a Volunteer Musician and performed in hospitals in New York City, Nashville and Milwaukee. His passion for music was the inspiration for MOC to its Bedside Performance Program and Music Pharmacy to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, where he’d been treated for cancer.
